Steve Sarley is recognized for more than three decades of engaging outdoor storytelling through The Outdoor Experience and his long-running columns in the Daily Herald and Outdoor News. His work has helped make outdoor recreation, conservation, and ethical hunting and fishing accessible to audiences across Illinois.

Outdoor Influencer of the Year

Josh Monahan (ILfishNdad39)

Josh Monahan of LeRoy, Illinois, is celebrated for showcasing Central Illinois fishing opportunities through educational, research-driven content. His work has become a trusted resource for anglers of all experience levels and an authentic voice for local waters.

Outdoor Business of the Year

Lakes & Rivers Contracting, Inc.

Lakes & Rivers Contracting, Inc. is honored for its exceptional work on the William Powers State Recreation Area accessible fishing pier and kayak launch project. Their cost-conscious, thoughtful design approach helped deliver a high-impact project that expanded outdoor access for all.

Outdoor Volunteer Organization of the Year

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Illinois Chapter

The Illinois Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is recognized for its leadership in developing the Lake Shelbyville Archery Park. The project set a benchmark for public archery ranges by providing accessible, year-round opportunities for people of all ages and abilities on public land.

Award recipients will be honored at the annual ICF Outdoor Hall of Fame Gala (date to be announced).
